Jackie Cummins

Jackie Neal Cummins was born in Gainesville, Texas on July 22, 1941.  Her parents were Robert Neal and Opal Neal.  She had two brothers; Everett Neal of Gainesville, who is deceased, and Billy Neal of San Antonio, Texas, who is also deceased.  She attended schools in Gainesville and lettered as a cheerleader in Junior High School.  She and her family were faithful and founding members of the Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville. After graduating from High School she married her husband, Pat Cummins on August 29, 1959.  She is also survived by her three children and their spouses; Tim and Marsha Cummins of Hurst, Texas, Mike and Martha Cummins of Garland, Darla and Don Dona of Rowlett.  The joy and delight of her life was with her beloved pet, Sunshine, a Maltipoo dog. Her grandchildren are Jessica Cummins of Fate, Texas; Donnie Dona and his wife Caitlyn of Wylie, Texas; Drew Cummins of Denver, Colorado; Kasey Cummins of Texas City, Texas; Danielle Dona of Sandy, Utah.  She also is survived by five great grandchildren, three nephews and two nieces along with sisters in laws, Cindy Cummins of Marble Falls, Texas and Janelle Cummins of Gainesville, Texas.

Jackie was a pianist and organist in most of the churches they served as Pastor and wife.  She loved working with Youth and served as a counselor and friend to untold numbers of young people.  Her love for sewing was a huge part of her life in that she made clothes for herself and for all her children. She was an accomplished quilt maker and hundreds of Cross Stitch stockings and wall décor of which she entered in the State Fair of Texas and won many Blue Ribbons and awards.  Bowling was a great hobby of hers, of which she excelled.

Jackie organized and prepared her family for many years of camping in Colorado.  Her favorite spot was the Saint Charles Campground at Lake San Isabel.  She never wanted to put out the campfire and certainly never wanted to return home.

She was a wife; mother; Grandmother; Giggi; and the Hoopster to her immediate family, and loved and cherished forever.
